Pets are part of the family too! The number of pet-friendly properties is on the rise, as humans choose to take their companions with them. Although you may pay a little extra for the privilege, they’ll enjoy the special pet services available in some locations, including pet spas, room service menus and dog day beds.

Here’s some of the best locations we’ve found for you and your pets:

This hotel on the Adriatic Sea has everything you and your furry friend may need, including a small swimming pool just for your dog, dog sitting services, a canine gift basket, special food, water bowls, bedding and blankets. Felines also welcome!

A warm welcome awaits pets at this majestic 800-year-old castle hotel. VIPs (Very Important Pets) receive comfy bedding, fluffy towels, food and water bowls, as well as a special turndown treat. Both cats and dogs are welcome. Grooming services, sitting, and walking are available, as well as toys and treats. There’s plenty of opportunity for enjoyable walks, both for you and Fido.

This hotel aims to give dogs the real 5-start treatment; not only can the staff take visiting dogs for walks, but they can also take them to the opera for you! They suggest pleasant walks around the city, and can help dogs needing to follow a specific diet. Of course, dog sitting and dog salons can be arranged.

Doggy luxury awaits at the St Regis! The canine room service menu includes egg-white protein bowls and beef tenderloin. You can book your pet in with the Fur Butler for playdates with Kitty the Bernese, and there is the Wagner Park outside and plenty of opportunity for hiking nearby. Pups get a turndown service surprise too.

It’s not just your doggos who get well looked after at the Cypress Inn. Guest rooms welcome all domesticated creatures and they can join you on the patio, in the lounge, or for “muttinis” at yappy hour. Dogs are welcome leash-free on the nearby Carmel Beach.

Travel providers are gradually becoming more and more accommodating for your furry companions on flights, but it’s worth checking out the rules and regulations for each carrier before booking.
